The Bid Co-ordination Engineer supports the preparation, development, and submission of high-quality bids across mechanical, electrical, and multi-disciplinary engineering projects. The role ensures that tender submissions are accurate, compliant, professionally presented, and delivered within strict deadlines. Working closely with engineering, estimating, planning, procurement, and project delivery teams, the Bid Co-ordination Engineer contributes to winning work across data centres, pharmaceutical, industrial, commercial, and mission-critical sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Gather all necessary tender documents and analyse project requirements.
Read and understand construction drawings, specifications and other technical information, and advise others of the same.
To raise technical queries where information conflict exists or is missing, and act on responses.
Understand the Tender Deliverables Schedule and assist in the drive to comply or improve on the same.
Prepare technical details and quantities for quotation enquiry packages.
Prepare technical and commercial proposals for submission.
Support Value Engineering options.
Coordinate with Clients, Designers, Sub-contractors and Internal Multi-disciplinary Teams during the bidding process.
Develop the bid documents and ensure timely submission.
Ensure bid documents are compliant with JEG & Client requirements.
Attend pre- and post-bid meetings.
Develop and maintain database of historical proposals.
Skills & Experience Required
Graduate in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or related field)
5+ years post graduate experience with at least 2 years in a similar position preferred.
Technically competent with ability to read, understand and interoperate engineering drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of the industry and business needs.
Strong technical background in MEP Building Services.
Logical and well organised with ability to plan workload in a structured manner and prioritise actions / project requirements.
Methodical and accurate approach and be able to identify any anomalies.
Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance within proposals.
Excellent Communication skills.
Positive response to pressure.
Ability to support and motivate colleagues.
A good knowledge of IT / Software systems.
Ability to compile data and prepare reports.
An enthusiastic and conscientious personality able to work as a key member of the bid delivery team with minimum supervision.
Ability to work both in a team environment and also work unsupervised.
