THE ROLE
Tesco Ireland is seeking to appoint a Line Manager who will support and lead a department and team to deliver the best shopping experience for our customers. Reporting to the Deputy Manager, this role will ensure we serve Ireland’s shoppers a little better every day.
* Create an inspiring and welcoming environment for colleagues and customers
* Be responsible for the store when the Store Manager/Deputy Manager are absent
* Ensure team members are fully trained and validated in their roles
* Foster two-way communication and a culture of trust
* Coach and manage colleagues to meet daily priorities and deliver excellent customer service
* Review reports and systems to implement improvements for customers and colleagues
* Drive a culture of zero food waste by managing date codes and food disposal
* Recruit passionate colleagues committed to customer service
* Understand and deliver cleaning specifications through team leadership and personal example
* Manage stock control, warehouse layout, and routines to ensure first-time accuracy
* Address pricing discrepancies, overcharges, refunds, and label routines to ensure correct charges
* Manage front-end operations to prevent customer queues
* Recognize and provide feedback on colleagues’ service performance
For the ‘Line Manager’ role, candidates should demonstrate:
* Passion for delivering the right experience for customers and colleagues
* Adaptability and agility in thinking
* Ability to deliver objectives in a fast-paced environment
* Being the go-to person for department queries
* Influencing at senior levels
* Previous retail experience in a similar role (preferred)
