Unijobs on behalf of our public sector client have a requirement for a Test and Release Manager. This position is remote/hybrid working (with the requirement to attend the office for meetings and workshops as required). Working 35 hours per week, the successful candidate will be employed as an agency employee and will be paid an hourly rate of €31.90 per hour based off of an annualised salary of €58,254. You will also accrue 30 days annual leave per year and paid Bank Holidays. The duration of this post is 12 months initially with the possibility of extensions thereafter. The successful candidate needs to have a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing and proven experience in managing software releases. Overview: A Test and Release Manager is required for our team to work with vendor to ensure the quality and integrity of software products through rigorous testing and managed release processes. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of software development and deployment cycles. Our client's goal is to enable the sharing of standardised interoperable digital health records for both healthcare professional and patients, nationally and across borders. Principle duties and responsibilities: Develop and Implement Testing Strategies in conjunction with system vendor to cover all aspects of software functionality and performance. This includes e.g. unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing. Lead, mentor, and manage software testers, ensuring they have the necessary resources and training to perform their tasks effectively. Manage the end-to-end release process, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating releases. Coordinate with development teams to ensure timely and bug-free releases. Proactively look for improvement in testing and release processes, incorporating industry best practices and feedback from stakeholders. Coordinate with project managers, developers, and other stakeholders to ensure comprehensive test coverage and to align testing and release activities with project goals and timelines. Ensure clear communication of testing results, issues, and risks. Ensure high standards of quality assurance by maintaining proper documentation, adhering to industry best practices, and conducting regular quality audits. Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with software releases. Develop contingency plans to address potential issues proactively. Provide regular status updates and reports on testing and release activities to senior management. Generate reports and analytics to provide insights and drive decision-making. Eligibility criteria: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. ITIL Foundation certified, preferably to Intermediate or higher, would be an advantage. Minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing and proven experience in managing software releases. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide effective solutions. Experience of planning and organizing programme or process resources to meet deliverables in line with agreed schedules. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. High attention to detail to ensure thorough testing and accurate documentation. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies. Ability to work in iterative development cycles. Proficiency in test automation and the ability to identify areas for automation to improve testing efficiency. Experience with performance and load testing tools (e.g., LoadRunner, JMeter). Familiarity with project management tools and practices. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong process background, self-motivated, and is comfortable working unsupervised.
