IT Officer - 2 Year Fixed Term Contract
(Internal Position to Rethink Ireland Staff ONLY)
Contract: years full-time
Based: Dublin with some travel within Ireland
Salary: €36,000 - €47,000 per annum (Dependent on experience)

Hybrid working: Opportunity to mainly from home, with a regular in office presence.
We're looking for an IT Officer to manage and optimise Rethink Ireland's l IT infrastructure, systems and policies to ensure secure, efficient, and compliant operations. This hands on role is responsible for leading on the day to day operations, such as IT queries, maintaining hardware and software, implementing IT policies and cybersecurity measures, and coordinating with our managed service provider. Whilst also delivering on any ITC plans and actions and contributes to ongoing improvements in how our systems and digital tools support the organisation's effectiveness and impact.
JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
Reporting to the Operations Director and working across all business units, you will lead and manage day-to-day IT support across Rethink Ireland, ensuring timely resolution of all staff queries and smooth operation of our systems.
You will manage and monitor the organisation's IT infrastructure and service providers, implementing policies and cybersecurity measures to maintain secure and compliant operations.
This hands-on role is accountable for resolving IT issues, managing escalations, and coordinating with our external IT provider where required.
You will also deliver IT Workplan actions and digital improvements that enhance efficiency and staff experience across the organisation
This role does require a regular in office presence.
IT Operations and Support
* Lead and manage day to day IT support, ensuring all queries are resolved promptly and effectively
* Manage and monitor all IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, and cloud-based systems (e.g. Microsoft 365 and Salesforce), ensuring assets are correctly allocated, maintained, and replaced in line with lifecycle and organisational needs.
* Manage user accounts, permissions, and licensing across systems.
* Coordinate with the managed service provider on escalated or complex issues and monitor performance
Governance, Compliance and Security
* Implement, manage and monitor all IT related policies and processes, in conjunction with the Data Protection policy, and develop new processes and protocols as required
* Liaise with our Data Protection Coordinator to ensure GDPR Compliance across systems and data handling.
* Manage escalations of potential data breaches
Systems Maintenance & Improvement
* Support the ongoing development of our centralised system for our data, (Salesforce) and other systems related to our day to day operations
* Deliver on ITC plans and actions actions, implementing approved updates and improvement projects.
* Support the rollout of software upgrades and integrations, ensuring minimal disruption to staff.
* Support the measurement of adoption and increased efficiencies of IT systems and processes for all staff
* Explore new opportunities for how our IT infrastructure and digitalisation strategy can maximise efficiencies and staff experience
Training & User Capability
* Plan and lead the delivery of a continuous IT training and awareness programme, ensuring all staff understand and comply with all relevant policies and measure improvements in staff confidence and adherence to ITC policies
Vendor & Service Provider Management
* Liaise with and monitor the performance of the managed service provider and other IT vendors.
* Track service delivery against SLAs, escalate issues where necessary, and ensure quality outcomes.
* Coordinate procurement and renewal of IT hardware, software, and licences in line with policy and budget.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
* Work collaboratively with all departments to anticipate IT needs and proactively support projects.
* Stay informed about emerging technologies and tools relevant to Rethink Ireland's work, recommending practical solutions that enhance efficiency and security.
* Contribute to cross-organisational initiatives that strengthen digital systems and data management practices.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Someone with the following qualities and skills:
REQUIRED
* Experience - 5 to 10 years relevant experience
* 5–10 years' relevant IT experience, ideally in a small/medium or not-for-profit environment.
* Proven experience managing IT infrastructure (hardware, software, and cloud systems) and implementing related policies and protocols.
* Demonstrated leadership and initiative in delivering projects or process improvements
* Strong project management skills with the ability manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
* Ability to develop processes and documentation to support ITC policies and plans.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess systems and data, identify issues, and propose practical improvements.
* Experience preparing and managing budgets and liaising with third-party providers to achieve best value.
* Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to build trust and collaborate effectively with colleagues and vendors.
* Skilled in negotiation and influencing to achieve solutions and service improvements.
* High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to excellent internal service delivery.
* Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and open to learning new systems and technologies.
* Curiosity, drive, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
