Support Workers Roles – Delvin, Co Westmeath, Trim & Athboy, Co Meath

At The Muiriosa Foundation we are currently recruiting Support Workers to work as part of existing dynamic teams supporting adults in community residential settings across Delvin, Co. Westmeath, Trim and Athboy Co. Meath.
The successful candidates will be provided with the opportunity to support individuals to connect with their local community, develop independent living skills, and ensure promotion of their personal health and wellbeing. You will be given the opportunities and resources to encourage and motivate individuals to pursue their personal interests and life goals. We are looking for ambitious and enthusiastic Support Workers to support, encourage and motivate individuals to build and lead a meaningful life.
The roster will include days, weekends, waking nights and sleepovers.
Requirements:
* FETAC/QQI level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support/Health Service Skills; Or willingness to undertake QQI Level 5 training
* A valid Full Licence to drive a manual vehicle in Ireland;
* Experience of supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism;
* A proven ability to explore, discover, develop and implement a person-centred plan with individuals that is aligned to a person’s will and preference;
* Experience of supporting individuals with a broad range of support needs including behaviours of concern;
* High levels of motivation;
* Excellent communication skills;
* Experience in and commitment to supporting individuals to connect with their local community - ability to network and provide meaningful community opportunities for individuals;
* Knowledgeable of HIQA Regulations;
* Excellent interpersonal, organisational, record keeping, report writing and IT skills;
* Suitability as outlined in the introduction to the role.

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to be available for any of day, weekend, waking night duty and ‘sleep-over / over-night’ shifts in our residential services. In addition, we require staff members to be willing to work alone in the residents’ homes.
