Key job responsibilitiesInterface with colocation provider's technical and facility teams for operational requirements.Ensure work performed by on-site providers and contractors complies with practices, procedures, and legislation.Monitor routine maintenance and respond to emergencies for critical systems like switchgear, generators, UPS, power distribution, chillers, cooling towers, and building monitoring.Create change management requests and incident tickets for data center facilities.Participate in on-call responsibilities, respond to power failures or disasters, and refine emergency procedures.Work with providers to resolve infrastructure issues and conduct root cause analysis.Contribute to safety, security, and availability improvements.Assist with rack installation, space, power, and cooling assessments.A day in the lifeThe EOT will execute small-to-medium projects from conception to completion, involving independent work and collaboration with engineering, automation, processing, and finance teams.
Responsibilities include creating milestones, tracking costs, and documenting results to drive innovation, resiliency, and operational cost reduction.
Participate in 24/7 operations with flexible shifts, up to 12 hours, rotating as needed.Escalate facility issues promptly.Perform troubleshooting and report critical events within SLA.Support junior team members and oversee third-party vendors for safety compliance.Use administrative tools for change management, ticketing, and asset management.Support project and stakeholder activities, oversee commissioning, and ensure safety and security protocols.Participate in facility event analysis, emergency drills, and cross-team training.Drive operational excellence and improve customer experience.About the teamThe Data Center Engineering Operations Team maintains AWS data center infrastructure, ensuring near 100% availability of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing systems while providing excellent customer service.
