Details of service The HSE has created six new health regions.
Each region is responsible for providing both hospital and community care for the people in that area.
Bringing community health services and hospitals together means we can take a more patient-centred approach to healthcare.
HSE Dublin Midlands provides health and social care to Dublin South City & West, Dublin South West, Kildare & West Wicklow and Midlands
The Addiction Services provides free confidential, drug, alcohol and treatment services across the Healthcare region in line with The National Drug and Alcohol Strategy 'Reducing Harm – Supporting Recovery ***********' and will work in line with the new strategy once in place in ****
The Addiction service teams are based across the Midlands Region
The Service supports the provision of an integrated range of preventative, therapeutic and rehabilitation services to meet the diverse health and social care needs of our service users in an accountable, accessible and equitable manner
The Service works with young people and adults who want help to deal with a drug or alcohol problem, and who want to build a healthier and happier life for themselves
The Service provides OST (Opiate Substitution Treatment) services, Harm reduction education including needle and syringe programme, overdose prevention training and provision of naloxone for people experiencing Opiate addiction
Screening for blood borne viruses such as Hepatitis C, HIV and vaccinations for Hep A & Hep B are offered as part of our harm reduction programme and OST programmes
Our recovery teams include GP's, Nurses, Counsellors, Outreach Workers, Addiction Homeless team, Administration support Community Pharmacies and we work in partnership with other agencies and organisations

The Service works in partnership with primary care networks and other statutory and voluntary agencies to deliver care in multidisciplinary teams in both community and residential settings.
Teams are responsible for case management, assessing Service User needs, negotiating and delivering care plans and facilitating access for our target population within catchment areas
