OverviewStructural Engineer at Dornan Engineering Group. The role is based in Cork with occasional travel to projects as required, supporting the delivery of a portfolio of high‑value projects across Europe, the UK and Ireland.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate with Project Managers and design teams from design through construction to ensure compliance with project and regulatory requirements.Carry out structural design and design checks for secondary steelwork, support systems, fixings, and service hangers.Assess the impact of secondary steel loads on the primary structure and confirm structural suitability.Review construction drawings and provide technical support to ensure designs align with the construction programme.Attend site meetings, engineering reviews and coordination meetings to support project delivery and resolve design issues.Ensure design QA procedures, formal design approvals, reporting and project close‑out activities are completed on time.QualificationsDegree qualified in Structural Engineering or equivalent.Minimum 3 years of design experience.Experience working in structural steelwork, prefabrication, modularisation or services.EEO StatementWe are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people from all backgrounds feel valued and supported.
