Process Technician – Evening to Day Shift
Location: Shannon, Co. Clare
Join a leading global supplier of tooling solutions to fastener and special formed parts manufacturers. We are seeking a Process Technician to join the Engineering team at our Shannon facility.
The Role
You'll support production through CNC programming, validation, and process improvements, while also contributing to design validation and customer-focused engineering tasks.
The role begins on evening shift (2pm–10pm) for 6–12 months, before moving to day shift.
What You'll Do
1. Create and validate CNC part programs for lathes and mills.
2. Adjust G Code to meet drawing specifications.
3. Provide support with tooling, jigs, and fixtures.
4. Validate every job coming through – checking CAD drawings, specs, and customer requirements.
5. Work with AutoCAD and CAD software to support process design and job validation.
6. Troubleshoot production issues and drive corrective actions.
7. Train operators and line leads on process changes.
8. Collaborate with Sales, Purchasing, Quality, and Manufacturing.
9. Prepare BOMs, routings, and technical documentation.
10. Support customer communication by understanding requirements and feeding into process solutions.
11. Manage tasks handed over from the day shift, ensuring smooth continuity.
What We're Looking For
12. 2–5 years' experience in a CNC/machine shop environment.
13. Strong hands-on CNC machining experience (lathes and/or mills).
14. Exposure to G Code editing / cut experience.
15. Background as a technician or lead CNC operator with workshop experience.
16. Comfortable in both workshop and office/desk-based tasks.
17. Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD, ideally AutoCAD.
18. Understanding of engineering standards and manufacturing methods.
19. MS Office skills, especially Excel.
