Responsibilities
* Care of Learners: Ensure that the life and experience of Learners reflects the core values of Delta Centre and Care Plans, and that all Learners experience dignity and respect. Help Learners make choices and give them opportunities to contribute and learn. Demonstrate empathy towards Learners by getting to know each Learner, paying attention to them, reading cues in their behavior, and following relevant behavior support plans. Be patient and review and apply the details of Care Plans and Person-Centered Plans for each Learner. Regularly review all care protocols for each Learner. Understand and facilitate Learners’ needs through appropriate communication systems. Assist each individual in reaching maximum potential in independence, communication, and personal development. Establish trust through consistency of care. Adhere to all Delta Centres Policies, Procedures, Employee Handbook and working practices. Adhere to all national policies, including HIQA Standards, HSE policies, and safeguarding policies where applicable. Encourage and support community involvement. Help Learners identify future aspirations and current support needs, ensuring these are documented and how they can be met. Lead and encourage individual person-centered processes to achieve the best possible outcomes for each learner in every aspect of their life, while respecting rights and choices. Foster independence and initiative, and respect the age and status of each Learner.
Qualifications and experience
* Minimum of Fetac level 5 in a relevant discipline.
* Experience working with challenging behaviour.
