Sr. Software Engineer - Cloud Security (Remote) at CrowdStrike. CrowdStrike protects people, processes and technologies that drive modern organizations. We process almost 3 trillion events per day and continue to grow. We are seeking passionate engineers to help us revolutionize cloud threat detection and build the next generation of cloud security.
What You'll Do
As a Software Engineer on the cloud detection engine team, you will architect and implement a cutting-edge detection system that processes billions of events across multi-cloud environments. You will work on technologies such as custom query languages, event orchestration systems, and advanced correlation engines to detect sophisticated cloud-based threats. You will collaborate with security researchers to translate their expertise into scalable detection capabilities. You will contribute to a composable and modular architecture at the intersection of distributed systems, data engineering, and security analytics. You will design elegant systems that identify real-world threats, process complex event patterns with low latency, and impact the security of thousands of organizations.
Lead backend engineering efforts from rapid prototypes to large-scale applications across CrowdStrike products
Leverage and build cloud-based systems to detect targeted attacks and automate cyber threat intelligence production at a global scale
Collaborate across multiple teams to brainstorm, define and build solutions
Mentor and be mentored on web, backend, and data storage technologies
Continuously re-evaluate and improve architecture, knowledge models, user experience, performance and stability
Own your work in a high-trust environment
Technology stack includes Go, AWS/GCP/Azure/Kubernetes, Kafka, Git, Cassandra, Docker, Redis
What You'll Need
Degree in Computer Science or professional experience in data structures/algorithms/distributed systems
Understanding of scalability and distributed systems (sharding, partitioning, concurrency, etc.)
Team player with strong collaboration skills
Engineering best practices: testing, peer code reviews, resilient architecture
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, test-driven, collaborative environment
Ability to meet commitments with high-quality, unit-tested code and continuous integration

Contributions to the open-source community
Experience with Go, Scala, AWS, Cassandra, Kafka, Elasticsearch
Prior experience in cybersecurity or intelligence
Experience in programming languages or compilers
