Job Description
Do you want to be a valued part of the critical infrastructure that serves communities across Europe and beyond? Are you looking for a position in which you can keep things moving and deliver when it matters most? If so, then you could be the newest addition to our team as an HGV Driver – 45 hours week (in line with current driver legislation).
* Drive Heavy Goods Vehicle from depot to loading/unloading point in accordance with the delivery schedule.
* Deliver chill, produce and ambient products to all customers’ premises.
* Accurately record all activities in line with legislation and company requirements.
* Ensure all delivery notes are signed upon delivery.
* Adhere to road transport regulations.
* Work within the remits of the European Drivers Hours regulations.
* Work within the remits of the Working Time Directive.
* Ensure all loads are strapped down adequately.
* Check tyres, brakes, lights, oil, water and fuel levels and general condition of the vehicle.
* Agree delivery schedule and route with transport management.
* Assist with loading/unloading and ensure that load is evenly distributed and safely secured.
* Maintain records of journey times, mileage and hours worked via Tachograph.
* Undertake minor repairs and notify supervisor of any mechanical faults.
About you
* Full HGV Class 1 Licence.
* Valid Taco Card.
* Valid CPC Card.
* Must be 25 years+ (for insurance purposes).
* Good English verbal and written skills.
* Excellent customer service skills.
