About the Role An established engineering and infrastructure organisation operating within the utilities and renewable energy sector is seeking a Civil / Structural Design Engineer to join its expanding Design Team in Kerry.
The role focuses on the delivery of civil and structural design works for major infrastructure projects, including renewable energy developments, substations, grid connections and access infrastructure .
You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams delivering projects across Ireland and the UK.
What's on Offer Competitive salary within the €55k–€75k range 23 days annual leave Paid sick leave after probation Clear career progression through a structured Career Pathway Programme Strong focus on professional development and training Voluntary pension scheme (post-probation) 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Health insurance discount Life assurance Industry-standard training and upskilling Key Responsibilities Prepare civil and structural design drawings for renewable energy and utility projects (foundations, access roads, drainage, cable routes, substations) Develop site layout plans, earthworks and grading designs using CAD/BIM tools Assist with steelwork and reinforced concrete design Foundation and structural design in accordance with Eurocodes Prepare technical calculations, drawings and material specifications Support planning applications and tender documentation Review designs, resolve clashes and maintain accurate project documentation Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards Undertake on-site quality audits and record as-built information Temporary works design and review of survey site investigation data Occasional travel to project sites Requirements Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (NFQ Level 8 or equivalent) 3+ years' experience in civil/structural design (utilities or renewables preferred) Strong technical design capability Proficiency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D / Revit highly advantageous) Knowledge of Irish and EU design standards and building regulations Excellent attention to detail and report-writing skills Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team Strong communication and organisational skills Full driving licence and flexible approach to work Nice to Have Experience in renewable energy or grid infrastructure projects Familiarity with BIM workflows and/or GIS tools Previous exposure to substations, wind or solar projects Wymagania Oczekujemy Oferujemy
