We are now hiring for an Editor for Professional Beauty HJ Ireland
Professional Beauty HJ is the leading voice of the professional beauty and hairdressing industry in Ireland. We deliver inspiring content, expert insight and the latest trends to our engaged audience across print, digital and social platforms, as well as our in-person awards and events. We are seeking an experienced journalist to take on this role and represent the brand.
The role
As Editor, you will be responsible both for creating and writing content for our website, weekly e-news and bi-monthly print magazine ensuring this is engaging, accurate and delivered on time. This is a varied and hands-on role that spans across magazine production, digital content, in-person events, and social media creation.
Key responsibilities:
· Ensure delivery of Professional Beauty HJ across print and digital platforms
· Write and edit high-quality editorial and sponsored content that informs and inspires our professional audience
· Collaborate with contributors, designers and the sales team to deliver each issue on time and to the highest standard
· Produce online and social media output to ensure timely, relevant and engaging content
· Represent Professional Beauty HJ at industry events (often outside of normal working hours) and maintain strong relationships with professionals, brands and partners
· Manage deadlines, sponsored content, and workflow efficiently
About you
We're looking for a confident and creative journalist who can hit the ground running. You'll be equally comfortable writing features and producing excellent social and online content as you are liaising with key clients and creating commercial content. A passion and for beauty and hairdressing industry is highly desirable.
Skills and experience required:
* Proven editorial experience
* A solid digital understanding with experience in CMS, SEO and social media content scheduling
* Excellent writing skills
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
* Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships at all levels
* An interest in professional hairdressing and beauty is a strong advantage
Day to Day
You'll be working from home and will catch-up once a week with colleagues in Dublin. Due to occasional evening industry social events, we prefer a candidate based in the Dublin area.
