An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Worker to join the Child and Family Agency in either Athy or Naas. The successful candidate will work as part of a dedicated team providing child protection, welfare, and family support services within the community.
This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families while working within a structured, supportive statutory environment.
Key Responsibilities of the Social Worker:
Undertake child protection and welfare assessments in line with national policy and legislation
Manage a defined caseload of children and families
Develop and implement care and safety plans
Conduct risk assessments and contribute to safeguarding processes
Prepare reports for court and attend court proceedings as required
Work collaboratively with families, carers, foster carers, and external agencies
Maintain accurate and timely case records in accordance with Tusla policies
Participate in supervision and ongoing professional development
Essential Criteria for the Social Worker:
Qualification in Social Work recognised by CORU
Current registration with CORU (or eligibility to register)
Experience working with children and families
Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and policy
Excellent assessment, report-writing, and communication skills
Ability to manage a busy caseload and work effectively within a team
Desirable Criteria
Previous experience working within a statutory child protection service
Court work experience
Experience in duty/intake or assessment services
