This role as a Graduate Construction Engineer presents a unique opportunity to experience client interaction and on‑site presence, minimizing desk‑based tasks through active engagement with clients and construction sites.
As a member of our team, you'll collaborate within a diverse and inclusive group of Designers, Architects, Construction professionals, and Engineers. In this transformative two‑year programme your focus will be on the technical and practical aspects of projects, with a particular emphasis on those related to the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences industry.
As a participant in our Graduate Programme, you'll receive mentorship and comprehensive training in both technical and non‑technical skills. You'll also engage with a supportive cohort of graduates and lay the foundation for a successful and fulfilling career in construction engineering.
What You’ll Do
Collaborate with prestigious clients — global brand leaders in the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries.Work alongside a dedicated team of construction professionals passionate about delivering complex, high‑quality facilities.Support the delivery of CSA construction packages, ensuring technical excellence and adherence to design intent.Attend job and construction meetings in‑office and onsite, engaging directly with multidisciplinary design and construction teams.Assist the Project Manager in overseeing site safety, quality, and CSA‑related nonconformities.Contribute to the management and coordination of civil, structural, and architectural aspects of projects from inception to completion.Ensure all CSA works under your supervision are executed in line with IPS and client specifications, drawings, and standards.Support the Project Manager in evaluating vendor and subcontractor invoices and CSA‑related change orders.Champion and uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance across all CSA works.Adopt a “hands‑on” approach to managing your work, developing your technical competence in CSA disciplines through practical site experience.Be open to temporary relocation within the UK or Europe during live project periods.
Qualifications & Requirements
Experience or exposure to CSA construction management, design coordination, or site execution.Understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and quality assurance related to civil, structural, and architectural works.Willingness to broaden expertise through ongoing learning about other engineering disciplines (MEP, process, etc.).Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (and familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD or Revit is advantageous).Strong oral and written communication skills, with an emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.Commercial awareness or an aptitude to develop this skill.Willingness to travel across the UK and Europe for project delivery.
