Role Overview:

The Analytical Associate Scientist R&D will collaborate closely with the Enabling Technology and Engineering group to leverage Process Automation knowledge and the Analytical group to enable the adoption of Process Analytical Technology (PAT). The Microbiology Lab Operations group will work alongside Operations to ensure facility fit and resource flexibility.

This is a shift-based role (primarily extended days, subject to business needs).

Key Responsibilities:

* Support laboratory operations, including equipment qualification (PQ), SOP and Work Instruction documentation, and lab/process establishment.

* Assist with general lab operations, including EM, facility testing, method verifications, troubleshooting, and execution of laboratory studies.

* Review, trend, and report laboratory data; generate batch data; collate and analyze end-of-quarter and year reports. Maintain and release laboratory stock and order consumables as needed.

* Manage routine cleaning of laboratory equipment per site procedures; maintain laboratory housekeeping standards; identify continuous improvement opportunities.

* Respond to standard requests from internal and external partners and escalate issues when appropriate.

* Actively participate in functional meetings, facilitate cross-functional meetings, and support internal and external audits.

* Support site safety culture and standard operating procedures.

* Promote innovative solutions and support the testing of biologics within the facility.

* Develop team effectiveness skills, promoting team success and demonstrating respect for diverse populations.

* Assist with training completion and coaching of team members.

* Be flexible to support changing business needs, including occasional out-of-hours testing for exceptional circumstances.

Required Skills and Experience:

* Degree qualification in a relevant field (Biological Sciences or Engineering), preferably with a background in microbiology.

* 1–3 years of relevant academic or industry experience (internships or student placements considered).

* Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

* Familiarity with biologics manufacturing and microbiological testing techniques.

* Knowledge of laboratory systems (e.g., LIMS, E-logs, MODA, electronic notebooks).

* Logical thinking and proactive problem-solving skills under pressure.

* Strong understanding of GMP, and familiarity with USP, EP, JP requirements.
