Key Areas of Focus

* Revenue Growth: Drive sales across all revenue streams – Transient, Groups, Meetings & Events, and Weddings – to achieve and exceed budgeted targets.
* Sales Leadership: Lead and energise proactive and reactive sales initiatives for Glasson Lakehouse
* Client Partnerships: Build and maintain strong, profitable relationships with key accounts, DMCs, and travel agents to secure repeat and new business.
* Team Development: Inspire, coach, and grow a high-performing sales team to deliver results consistently.
* Market Presence: Represent the hotel brand at major trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities.

Job Purpose

The Head of Sales will champion revenue growth and increase the hotel’s market share in bedrooms and events. This strategic leadership role involves creating and executing robust sales plans, fostering client relationships, and driving collaboration with events, marketing, and revenue teams to exceed performance goals consistently.

Role Responsibilities

Strategic Sales Delivery

* Design and execute targeted sales strategies for rooms, conference & banqueting, and F&B, in partnership with hotel leadership.
* Deliver measurable growth in Corporate, Leisure, Groups, M&E, and F&B revenues through proactive prospecting and high conversion rates.
* Identify, research, and convert new business opportunities to maximise market penetration.

Client Relationship Management

* Strengthen partnerships with top-tier clients and industry intermediaries at both domestic and international markets
* Lead high-impact site inspections, show-arounds, and client engagement events to enhance conversion.
* Oversee corporate rate contracting to secure competitive agreements and long-term value.
* Maintain a balanced focus on account retention and new business acquisition.

Leadership & Team Performance

* Recruit, mentor, and develop sales professionals, embedding a culture of accountability and achievement.
* Set clear KPIs, monitor activity, and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality sales calls and presentations.
* Set clear objectives and ensure the quality and volume of sales calls meet agreed standards.
* Communicate strategies effectively across the team and align efforts with broader business objectives.

Market Representation & Brand Positioning

* Represent the hotel at trade exhibitions, consumer promotions, seminars, workshops, and industry briefings
* Travel (domestic and international) as required to strengthen the hotel’s profile and capture strategic business opportunities.

Operational Excellence & Reporting

* Maintain accurate, actionable CRM data to track relationships and pipeline performance.
* Ensure data integrity through robust database management processes.
* Produce clear, concise weekly and monthly sales reports for senior management.
* Uphold the highest standards in all administrative functions.

Preferred Experience & Skills

* Proven track record in driving sales growth in an on-property senior hotel sales role, ideally within transient and events markets
* Strong leadership skills with experience in building and motivating successful teams.
* Excellent negotiation, relationship management, and presentation abilities.
* Strategic thinker with strong organisational and time management skills
* Proficient in CRM systems and analytical sales reporting
* Flexibility to travel nationally and internationally to achieve commercial objectives.
