Human Resources Trainee
This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a truly international and multi-cultural environment. As a Human Resources trainee, you will be part of the Employee Relations Division, which brings together legal expertise within the HR Directorate.
The division delivers legal advice on staff matters within HR and EIB-wide. It oversees the drafting of legal documents concerning staff matters, including Staff Rules and relevant policies, and provides support to the drafting of policy documents to other teams in HR.
You will provide assistance and support to the team by primarily:
* Carrying out legal research and comparative studies of relevant jurisprudence, national legislation, EU Directives and international/EU civil service principles,
* Assisting the HR lawyers with the drafting of documents related to internal procedures such as the administrative review procedure, the anti-harassment procedure and the disciplinary procedure,
* Assisting in the preparation of draft answers on HR issues related to questions on employment and labour law, staff rights and benefits under Staff Rules and Regulations, data protection and other staff-related matters.
Responsibilities
* Under the supervision of the Head of Division and other team members, you will provide support and assistance to HR lawyers in legal research, drafting of legal documents and advice on HR issues.
* Your tasks may evolve during the traineeship but will include: Assisting lawyers with legal research on case-law as well as legal analysis, Assisting lawyers with drafting legal documents related to HR legal procedures (administrative review, anti-harassment procedure and disciplinary procedure), Assisting lawyers in the preparation of draft answers on HR issues related to questions on employment and labour law, staff rights and benefits under Staff Rules and Regulations, data protection and other staff-related matters, Preparation of reports, drafting of internal notes and other specific assignments as required.
Academic Qualifications and Professional Skills
* Fifth year of studies or University Degree in Law.
* Good knowledge of Labour and/or European Union Law.
* Very good knowledge of MS Office software, in particular Excel and Word.
* Fluency in English, good knowledge of French would be an advantage.
