Dairygold Co-Operative Society Limited is now pleased to invite applications for the position of Practical Gardening Coordinator. Reporting to the Retail Lead Buyer, involves being a part of the Buying Team, located in the Lombardstown HQ Offices, with a requirement to visit suppliers, other Co-Op Superstores & Competitor stores, trade shows or meetings. Ensuring that this role is carried out proactively with energy, commitment, professionalism and discretion, quickly adapting to the position, with an eye for attention to detail reporting directly to the appointed Retail Buyer. The key purpose is to contribute to the continued growth, deliver the budget and implement the key category initiatives for the Practical Gardening category. Responsibilities Customer Focus: (We Focus on our Customers) Co-Ordinate and manage the promotional Calendar i.e., Plant of the Month & multi buys etc. Support the planning and implementation of Seeds and Bulb sub-group for the key selling periods. Develop a range of plants and shrubs to deliver additional sales & profitability for the Autumn Period. Monitoring and ensuring appropriate stock levels of core and seasonal stock. Manage the ecommerce Offering of Plants & shrubs including Bedding Plants (Including Christmas Gifting Ranges) for all relevant data and images. Driving for Results: (We are Honest & Accountable) Develop and grow sales and variety opportunities from the Dutch, UK and other EU growers especially for Autumn/Winter, Christmas and when product is short from Irish Growers. Co-Ordinating, assembling and manage the plants & shrubs in bedding plants requirements (quantities and variety) required by the relevant stores, by week for the full season 2025. Ensure maximise supplier support for store write offs Review & Track the performance of Sales, Margin and Stock Holding of the relevant product sub-groups. People: (We Care & We Grow Together) Ensure excellent communication with the Stores, Supplier, Buying Function and all other relevant Dairygold Functions i.e., Marketing, Account Payable, Finance. Attend weekly performance review meeting with the an active role in the weekly Garden Horticulture team by producing updates & content for participants. Liaising with the Marketing Department on promotional products, prices, and product images. Processes: (We Find a Better Way) Ensuring the product available to the store network is always of the highest quality that will delight and exceed customers expectations i.e., size, colour, quality and price, this will require constant review of product quality and from time to time will require inspection visit to the suppliers. Take an active part in the procurement of Garden accessories sub-Group i.e., pots, planters, accessories etc. Placing and distributing official Purchase Orders, tracking all POs. Review & maintaining supplier purchasing & retailing catalogues monthly. Support in maintaining and updating product descriptions, prices etc. on the company Retail website. We want to hear from you if you have: Have previous role-related competence and experience. Possess a relevant purchasing and/ or business administration qualification. An in-depth knowledge of garden plants, the key seasonal selling periods and the ability to work between inter departments. Highly proficient in MS Office suite. Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Proficient in using a business intelligence tool to interpret & analyse business performance data. Previous Agri / Retail experience -knowledge of the product range in the respective categories is preferable Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and presentation. Excellent interpersonal skills, confident, diplomatic and assertive when dealing with queries, with the ability to build relationships with both internal and external bodies. Proven track record of strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise, see tasks through to completion and focus on and meet task deadlines. Customer focused with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong emphasis on attention to detail and discretion Be self-motivated and prepared to be flexible when the occasion demands.
