Overview
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the mechanical design and development of new product features, sub-systems, and prototypes. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary R&D team to ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements. The role offers broad exposure to structural, thermal, and system-level engineering challenges, along with involvement in testing, validation, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Lead the mechanical design and development of new product features, sub-systems, and prototypes.
Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary R&D team to ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements.
Address structural, thermal, and system-level engineering challenges and contribute to testing, validation, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronic, or related Engineering discipline
7+ years'' experience in mechanical design within an R&D or product development environment
Strong proficiency in 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo or CATIA V5)
Experience in structural, thermal, or vibration analysis (FEA/CFD tools)
Background in designing complex mechanical assemblies or precision components
Experience with testing, validation, and prototype development
Good understanding of materials, manufacturing methods, and mechanical simulation principles
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Experience in Propulsion systems or Structures is highly sought after
This role is also open to those in the UK that may be open to relocation to Ireland!
