VAT Advisory Manager Opportunity: Expert Guidance on Complex Transactions and VAT Legislation

We are seeking an ambitious, high-achieving VAT Advisory Manager to join our progressive and forward-thinking VAT Department. As a VAT specialist, you will have the opportunity to advise on VAT treatment for complex transactions such as property, M&A, and cross-border supplies.

* Advising on the VAT treatment of transactions, including property, M&A transactions, and cross-border supplies
* Providing guidance on changes in VAT legislation, Revenue policy, and evolving Irish and EU case law
* Advising on the VAT treatment of services outsourced to Irish/non-Irish service providers and applying VAT exemptions
* The completion of VAT reviews, including identifying key risks, threats, and opportunities and optimizing related VAT cash flows
* Providing support to clients in relation to Revenue audits (e.g., assistance with Revenue desk audit queries, to the preparation of voluntary disclosures, to negotiating settlements with Revenue)
* Developing and reviewing VAT recovery rate methodologies and calculations for clients without full VAT recovery
* The management and coordination of pan-European and global VAT advisory projects
* Provision of bespoke VAT training for the management of VAT
* Working directly with members of the senior VAT and firm management group and partners
* Development and mentoring of VAT trainees and management
About You:

* A relevant tax, legal, or accountancy qualification, such as ITI/CTA, is required
* Demonstrates a strong academic record with notable achievements
* Possesses excellent technical knowledge of both Irish and European VAT legislation, as well as relevant case law
* Holds a minimum of 4-5 years of experience working in a professional tax or VAT environment, showcasing a proven track record
* Exhibits strong commercial awareness with the ability to understand and address complex business needs
* Experienced in delivering exceptional client service and managing relationships across a diverse portfolio of businesses and clients
* Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively
* Demonstrates a strong ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with both clients and colleagues
* Naturally ambitious, with a proactive approach to achieving goals and contributing to organizational success
