Development Project Manager – Real Estate
Location:
Dublin
We are working with a well-established, independent
Development and Project Management Consultancy
to recruit an experienced
Development Project Manager
to support the delivery of a growing pipeline of commercial and residential real estate projects across Ireland.
This boutique consultancy advises a diverse client base including private developers, institutional investors, and owner-occupiers. Despite its size, the firm is involved in complex, high-quality developments and is known for its hands-on, client-focused approach. The team operates in a collaborative, agile environment where individuals are given genuine responsibility and visibility across the full project lifecycle.
Role Overview
Reporting to a Director, the successful candidate will take responsibility for managing multiple development and construction projects on behalf of clients, from post-acquisition and planning through to delivery and handover.
This is a varied role offering exposure to a broad portfolio of projects rather than a single site. You will act as Project Lead on selected schemes while supporting Directors and senior colleagues on others, particularly during planning, design coordination, and procurement stages.
Given the consultancy environment, this role suits a proactive, commercially aware individual with strong interpersonal skills, sound judgement, and the ability to manage client relationships effectively.
We would be particularly interested in talking to candidates with sloid main contracting D&B experience as it is felt this experience will complement the current company knowledge base.
Key Responsibilities
As a Development Project Manager, you will be responsible for:
* Project Leadership:
Acting as the client's representative, providing regular updates on programme, cost, risk, and overall project performance.
* Client & Stakeholder Management:
Managing relationships with clients, design teams, local authorities, utility providers, and statutory bodies.
* Consultant & Contractor Management:
Assisting with the appointment and management of planning consultants, design teams, and construction contractors.
* Design Coordination:
Overseeing and coordinating design development through planning, detailed design, and construction stages.
* Programme & Cost Control:
Monitoring project programmes, budgets, and risk registers, ensuring issues are identified and addressed proactively.
* Contract Administration Support:
Supporting contract administration and ensuring works are delivered in accordance with contractual, quality, and safety requirements.
* Construction Oversight:
Monitoring construction progress on site, with a strong focus on quality, compliance, and timely delivery.
Required Experience
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
* Experience:
4–7+ years' post-graduate experience delivering construction or development projects, ideally within a main contracting, consultancy, developer, or client-side environment.
* Qualifications:
A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline. Chartered status or progress toward chartership is desirable.
* Technical Capability:
Strong understanding of design, planning, procurement, and construction processes on medium to large-scale projects.
* Leadership & Collaboration:
Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and the confidence to take ownership of projects and client relationships.
* Communication Skills:
Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.
* IT Skills:
Strong proficiency in MS Office, project planning software, and familiarity with BIM processes is an advantage.
