Job Summary
Magic Adventures is looking for a responsible, energetic, and caring individual who has a passion for working with children ages 3–6 in our school-age childcare program.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys leading activities, building relationships with children, and being part of a supportive team.
Under the direction of the School Age Care Coordinator and Site Lead, the Assistant Site Lead helps plan and lead engaging daily activities, supports and supervises Education Support Specialists and Aides, and helps oversee the daily operations of the program.
Full time, 40 hours per week
Pay: $***** per hour
On-the-job training provided
We are looking for someone who is dependable, positive, and excited to help create a fun and safe environment for children each day.
Please note, after this long term sub position ends, this candidate can continue at ***** hours/week in the Education Support Specialist role.
Education / Certification Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
First Aid and CPR Certified (or willing to get certified during training period)
1-3 years previous school age child care experience preferred
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise children (ages 3 - 6) at Eastview Education Center to ensure a safe, quality, and caring environment.
Assist in supervising assigned areas and activities as delegated.
Manage students' behaviors and assist in enforcing program rules, regulations and safety procedures of school age childcare program.
Assist in planning and preparing age appropriate daily activities or special events within the school age child care program that include recreation, arts & crafts, educational challenges, enrichment opportunities and social activities.
Assist and participate in cleaning, organizing and set up of games, materials or supplies needed prior to and during the program.
Assist in record keeping including attendance, discipline reports, or parent logs etc.
Communicate and interact with parents on a daily basis.
Assure that children are released to an adult who has the authority to pick up the student.
Supervise and direct assistants and aides with daily duties.
Assist with ill children, administer first aid, administer medications, and keep records as required.
Communicate and enforce all policies and procedures related to the program.
Effective communication and teaming skills, willingness to be flexible and excellent attendance.
Knowledge and application of technology and technology integration.
Skilled in adapting lesson plans to the individual needs of students to facilitate learning and to assist in meeting any individual learning goals.
Maintain confidentiality of information about students and families.
Experience working with diverse students and families.
