Job Description:
WTW
With roots dating to 1828, WTW has 48,000 employees serving more than 140 countries.
WTW is the leading provider of retirement consulting and actuarial services to today’s global organisations, providing actuarial services to more of the world’s top 300 pension funds than any other company. In the UK and Europe, we are the undisputed leader, advising 93 of the FTSE 100 companies. We also advise small and mid-sized schemes, with the range of clients providing our colleagues with a broad range of opportunities. Our client list includes household names, financial institutions, and charities.
We partner with clients globally to determine the best approaches to pension scheme design, funding, risk management, governance, administration, and communication.
What does the Retirement team do?
The Retirement team works with trustees and sponsors of occupational pension schemes. We advise on both defined contribution (“DC”) and defined benefit (“DB”) schemes: our trainee consultant vacancies are within the DB team. The DB team assists clients with managing pension schemes, including triennial valuation work, risk-reduction, and scheme design projects. We collaborate with other teams such as DC, investment, communications, and administration to provide comprehensive advice.
We aim to help clients manage risks involved with retirement benefits and ensure benefits meet stakeholder needs.
As part of the team, you will work alongside leading figures in the pensions industry, with opportunities for creativity and innovation.
At WTW, we value diversity and inclusion, fostering a culture where everyone feels welcome, valued, and empowered to bring their whole selves to work. We are committed to equal opportunity employment and embrace all forms of diversity.
The opportunities and support available
The trainee consultant role offers a balance of technical and communication opportunities. You will work on real-world technical problems and communicate your findings to colleagues and clients. You’ll have autonomy over your workload and are encouraged to innovate and improve our processes and services.
Our development programme will equip you with skills for career progression, focusing initially on technical and consulting skills through structured learning, webinars, self-study, and on-the-job coaching. You will have access to career development resources to help you take charge of your career early on.
Every team member can make a meaningful impact, and individual contributions are recognized.
