Casual relief hours up to 78 hours per fortnight.
Locations: Ballinhassig / Bandon / Upton / Innishannon and West Cork areas.
Responsibilities
Provide personal care (meals, hygiene, physical well-being) as required.
Assist users in implementing Individual Plans and achieving outcomes.
Participate in community activities to promote inclusion.
Develop and review individual plans if acting as a key worker.
Candidate Requirements
Must hold a minimum Level 5 (or higher) qualification on the QQI framework (8 modules) preferably in Healthcare Support, Health Service Skills, or Childcare, OR a SNA qualification, OR be undertaking a relevant Level 7 or 8 qualification in Social Care, Nursing or Allied Health.
Desirable to have at least 6 months of experience working with adults or children in the intellectual disability sector.
Experience working with adults or children who exhibit challenging behaviours.
Completion of a module on Special Needs and/or Intellectual Disability as part of qualification is desirable.
Full clean Driver's licence capable of driving manual transmission vehicles on Irish roads is highly desirable.
Other Requirements
All candidates must have adequate immunity against Hepatitis B as per the Immunisation Guidelines for Ireland ****.
Reporting
Reports to the Social Care Leader in the community and residential setting, and through the line manager to the Area Manager or another authorised person as designated by the Employing Authority.
Salary Scale
€34,536 - €47,954, including 1 LSI per annum (1/2/26 Department of Health Consolidated Scales).
Part-time hours are paid pro-rata to a full-time post.
