The role
I’m currently working with a client, a rapidly growing civil engineering contractor with a strong reputation for delivering major infrastructure and public realm projects across Ireland. Due to continued expansion within their Water Division, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to support the delivery of large-scale water infrastructure projects across the Southeast and Midlands regions.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone with strong operational and project delivery experience within the water/wastewater sector, ideally coming from a utilities or civil engineering background.
Working closely with the Water Networks Contracts Manager, you’ll oversee multiple live projects from planning stage through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and within budget.
You’ll take ownership of operational delivery across several sites, managing programme coordination, site teams, subcontractors, resources, client relationships and overall project performance.
Role
Oversee day‑to‑day operations across multiple water infrastructure projects
Manage project planning, scheduling, logistics and resource allocation
Coordinate with site teams, engineers, subcontractors, local authorities and stakeholders
Ensure all works are delivered in line with HSEQ standards and company procedures
Lead and support site management teams, including pre‑construction coordination
Monitor project budgets, KPIs and commercial performance
Manage operational reporting and project documentation
Drive programme delivery while maintaining high‑quality standards
Act as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders throughout project lifecycles
Identify and manage changes across projects and implement change control processes
Requirements
Proven experience in a similar Operations Manager role within the water/wastewater sector
Strong understanding of Irish or UK water industry standards
Background in civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure delivery
Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and subcontractor coordination skills
Commercial awareness with strong organisational and problem‑solving ability
Comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Proficiency in MS Project and general IT systems
Full clean driving licence required
Salary
Salary €120k‑€130k DOE
