As our fleet continues to grow, we are now seeking an experienced
Garage / Mechanic Manager
to lead and develop our in-house workshop.
The Role
This is a primarily hands-on role responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of our in-house van fleet workshop. You will ensure all vehicles are serviced, repaired, and maintained to a safe, compliant, and professional standard. As the workshop develops, this role will also include the supervision and development of additional mechanics.

Key Responsibilities
Workshop Management
* Manage daily workshop operations and maintenance schedules
* Plan, prioritise, and allocate maintenance and repair work
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment
* Ensure tools, equipment, and diagnostic systems are fit for purpose
Fleet Compliance & Safety
* Ensure all vehicles remain roadworthy and fully compliant
* Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and documentation
* Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, RSA, and environmental requirements
* Oversee safe handling, storage, and disposal of oils, chemicals, and waste
Staff Supervision & Development
* Manage own workload independently
* Supervise and support additional mechanics as the workshop expands
* Provide technical guidance, monitor standards, and support training and development
Parts, Stock & Administration
* Manage parts identification, ordering, and stock control
* Monitor parts usage and control workshop costs
* Complete job records and update fleet/workshop management systems
* Provide updates on vehicle condition, downtime, and maintenance needs
About You
* Proven experience managing a workshop or fleet environment
* Strong organisational and planning skills
* Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
* Leadership capability with potential to manage and develop others
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Motor Vehicle Maintenance
* Full European driving licence
