Our client seeks an experienced Quantity Surveyor to oversee cost control for construction and infrastructure projects within the Public Sector.
The successful candidate will manage budgets, ensure project delivery, and guarantee compliance with state regulations and standards.
This role involves collaborating with Senior Quantity Surveyors, Framework Owners, design professionals, clients, and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage project costs across all phases, including estimates, bills of quantities, contractor payments, variations, and final accounts.
* Prepare framework tender documentation, participate in pre-qualification and tender evaluations with the Procurement team.
* Conduct site evaluations, commercial audits, and deliver commercial awareness training to site personnel and project teams.
* Analyze data from past projects to provide budgeting insights for future initiatives.
* Monitor and forecast OPEX and CAPEX programs.
* Advocate for a strong safety culture across activities, with a visible commitment to safety management.
* Ensure adherence to Quality Procedures on all projects.
* Mentor junior staff and lead tender assessments, evaluations, and negotiations.
* Produce and interpret reports for stakeholders.
Requirements
* A Level 8 Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
* A minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in Quantity Surveying.
* Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate effectively with colleagues.
* Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions, applying logical reasoning and creative problem-solving.
* Teamwork skills with a focus on knowledge sharing and collaboration.
* Commitment to delivering high-quality work with attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Strong report writing abilities.
* Results-oriented and focused on customer satisfaction.
* Flexible approach to work, including willingness to travel nationwide when required.
* Solid knowledge of administering major contract conditions such as FIDIC, GCCC, NECC, or similar.
* A full, clean EU driving license with access to a vehicle.
