Due to strong growth, we are currently recruiting for a Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation Technician for a key Dublin based project, who will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of power generation systems.
Position Overview
Reporting to our Operations & Maintenance Manager, this role involves hands‑on maintenance, supervision where required, and coordination of electrical and control systems, contributing directly to the uptime and resilience of mission‑critical infrastructure.
Primary Responsibilities
Maintenance Execution
Performing day‑to‑day maintenance activities on electrical and control systems, including generators, switchgear, instrumentation, and automation systems.Implementing the preventive and corrective maintenance program as per operational standards and manufacturer guidelines.
CMMS Management
Ensuring the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is accurately updated with all maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment status.Using CMMS data to support planning, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Team Coordination
Managing daily activities ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently.Providing technical guidance and support to junior staff and contractors.
Spare Parts and Inventory
Maintaining inventory records and ensuring critical spares are stocked appropriately.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintaining detailed records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.Producing regular reports on equipment performance, maintenance trends, and compliance metrics.
Vendor and OEM Coordination
Coordinating major maintenance activities with OEMs (e.g., Wartsila) and external vendors.Ensuring third‑party work is performed to required standards and within agreed timelines.
Site Cybersecurity
Ensuring cybersecurity protocols are followed for all control systems and instrumentation.Monitoring and reporting any anomalies or vulnerabilities in the plant’s control network.
Qualifications & Experience Required
Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related technical field.Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance, preferably in power generation or industrial plant environments.Demonstrated experience working with HV/LV switchgear, including operation, isolation, maintenance and fault finding.Electrical safety certification (e.g., Safe Electrical Work Practices).Cybersecurity awareness training for industrial control systems is a plus.Proficiency in troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems, PLCs, SCADA, and instrumentation.Familiarity with CMMS platforms and maintenance planning tools.Understanding of generator systems, switchgear, and control panels.Strong organizational and communication skills.Ability to work independently and lead small teams.Attention to detail and commitment to safety and fully understand and implement isolations where required.Full working rights in Ireland at the time of application.
