Job Overview

This role is a key position within the Investment Control team, which is responsible for the collation and reconciliation of custodian data feeds, the regulatory reporting of custodian data under Solvency II requirements for all UPE, UHIL, and Utmost Group books of business to the Central Bank of Ireland and the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), as well as the calculation of fees associated with the UPE book.

The successful candidate will form part of the Investment Reconciliations and Fees team and will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions through the reconciliation of bank statements against internal records.

Please note, we have two positions open in this area - a permanent role and a 14 month contract.

Key Accountabilities:

* Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and financial transactions.
* Load and process bank statements into systems.
* Accurately match incoming and outgoing payments to internal transaction records using both automated tools and manual processes.
* Investigate and resolve discrepancies or variances in a timely manner, identifying root causes and suggesting process improvements where necessary.
* "Follow the money" to trace transaction flows end-to-end, ensuring financial integrity and accurate cash position reporting.
* Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to resolve issues and ensure alignment.
* Prepare internal reports on reconciliation status, discrepancies, and resolution activities for management review.
* Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all reconciliation activities.
* Assist with period-end close processes and ensure reconciliations are completed in accordance with deadlines.
* Support internal and external audits by providing reconciliation documentation and responding to inquiries.
* Loading the policy valuations to internal systems for Solvency II reporting and fees calculation.
* Generating the fee invoices and issuing to the relevant custodian banks,
* Process and issue payments to brokers, advisors, and management in a timely and accurate manner.
* Support the collection of IDD and MiFID-related fees, reconcile against agreed tolerances, and assist Operations with AVS process-related queries.
* Oversee the collection and reconciliation of Italian Stamp Duty in line with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
* Contribute to continuous improvement of operational processes and systems, with an appreciation of the concept of controls and risk management in a regulatory environment,
* Actively participate in team-based work, providing support to colleagues as needed to ensure departmental deadlines and deliverables are consistently achieved.
* Ability to be proactive and trouble shoot issues using own initiative and experience.
* Perform ad-hoc administrative tasks and participate in project initiatives as required.

Distinguishing Features

The role holder will have:

* Proven experience in bank reconciliations, cash management, or general accounting (2+ years preferred).
* Strong attention to detail, coupled with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills
* Experience working within large teams and managing responsibilities under demanding timelines and tight deadlines.
* A high degree of reliability and integrity, with the ability to maintain professional standards and productivity while working independently or remotely.

How the position is expected to deliver

* Delivery of timely bank reconciliation and of high standards.
* Support internal and external audit queries with the objective to minimize/eliminate findings.

Control

* Demonstrated experience in the continuous improvement of operational processes and systems, with a strong understanding of control frameworks and risk management within a regulated environment. This includes the ability to assess and address operational risks, identify process bottlenecks, resolve issues, and manage key dependencies effectively.

People/Stakeholder Management

* Work collaboratively with Internal and External stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours

* Highly organised, with a strong work ethic and experience working efficiently within a regulated environment.
* Experience in dealing with Bank reconciliation with the ability to solve issues efficiently and effectively.
* Prior experience working within a diverse, multicultural team is desirable.
* A strong track record of professional experience within financial services/ operations.
* Demonstrated ability to manage, monitor, and measure assigned workloads, consistently delivering high-quality service.
* Capable of working effectively under pressure and meeting tight deadlines while maintaining high attention to detail.
* Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
* Reliable and trustworthy, with a commitment to maintaining high professional standards, including when working remotely.
