Role Overview
The Principal Environmental Consultant will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, technical expertise, and client-facing advisory services across a broad spectrum of environmental projects. This role requires a combination of deep technical knowledge, project management experience, and the ability to develop and grow client relationships in a fast-paced, multinational environment.
Key Responsibilities
 * Lead and manage complex environmental projects, ensuring delivery to the highest technical and professional standards.
 * Provide expert advice on environmental impact assessments (EIA), permitting, regulatory compliance, remediation, and sustainability initiatives.
 * Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
 * Mentor and guide junior consultants, fostering technical excellence and professional development.
 * Identify business development opportunities and contribute to proposal writing and bid management.
 * Keep abreast of emerging environmental regulations, industry trends, and best practices to inform client solutions.
 * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across international offices to deliver integrated solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
 * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Ecology, or a related discipline.
 * Minimum of 10–15 years’ experience in environmental consultancy, including significant leadership experience.
 * Proven track record in managing high-value, complex projects for multinational clients.
 * Strong technical expertise in areas such as EIA, environmental permitting, contaminated land, air quality, water resources, and sustainability assessments.
 * Excellent understanding of Irish and EU environmental legislation and compliance requirements.
 * Professional accreditation or membership (e.g., Chartered Environmentalist, IEMA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
 * Exceptional project and team management skills.
 * Strong commercial acumen and experience in business development.
 * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentation skills.
 * Ability to work effectively with diverse teams and clients across multiple countries.
 * Strategic thinker with problem-solving capabilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
