Accountant Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified accountant to work closely with our commercial team in managing project budgets, sub-contractor administration, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Budget Management
* Agree project budget with Commercial and Accounts team and upload to ERP system for performance tracking.
* Monitor project performance and report variances against the budget.
* Liaise with Quantity Surveyors on each project to reconcile Cost Value Reconciliations reports with original project budgets.
* Review project budget continuously with Quantity Surveyors to ensure CVR reporting matches financial reports.
* Liaise with Accounts department on Payment Applications and ensure invoicing is complete once Applications are agreed by Commercial Team.
2. Sub-contractor Administration
* Set up and onboard new Sub-contractors with necessary documentation before commencement of works.
* Ensure all associated subcontracts are properly registered on ROS and recorded on accounts system.
* Review and track sub contracts monthly with project commercial team.
* Liaise with Commercial team and Accounts Payable team on payment schedules and cashflow projections for sub-contractor payments.
* Monitor retention release dates and liaise with Commercial team on scheduled settlement dates.
3. Financial Analysis and Reporting
* Assist in preparation of PQs on accounts system and ensure associated sign offs are in place.
* Issue POs on behalf of Commercial team.
* Interact with Company's procurement personnel on delivery requirement date on behalf of Commercial team.
* Match supplier invoices to appropriate PO on accounts system following Commercial team agreement.
* Liaise with Management Accountant to allocate materials procured for projects to respective contracts.
* Review GRN at end of each month and inform Accounts team of accruals & provisions to be made for month end reporting.
* Liaise with Accounts Payable team on month end close procedures - supplier statement reconciliations.
* Balances sheet management, understanding project costs and liabilities and reconciling monthly with Commercial and Accounts team to minimize WIP & Debtor days.
* Other ad hoc projects.
Requirements
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA).
* Minimum 5 years PQE.
* Experience working in busy finance or commercial department in construction company.
* Strong academics, minimum 2.1 degree.
