Our client, a multinational manufacturing company based in Cork, is looking for a General Accounting Team Member to join their team on an initial 12-month contract. You will ensure accuracy and the timely processing of all general accounting transactions for the shared service centre.
Key Responsibilities:
1. General Accounting & Reporting: Prepare and post general ledger journals, perform monthly US GAAP reporting, review P&L and cost centre accuracy, and manage balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
2. Data Analysis & Recharges: Analyse large data sets, manage manual recharges, and prepare quarterly and ad hoc corporate schedules.
3. Balance Sheet Ownership: Maintain end-to-end ownership of balance sheet accounts, ensuring accurate reconciliations and ongoing monitoring.
4. Audit & Compliance: Lead US GAAP and local statutory audit requirements across EMEA, including GAAP bridges, audit file preparation, and SOX compliance.
5. Intercompany & Tax: Manage intercompany balances and agreements, resolve discrepancies promptly, and support US GAAP and local tax requirements.
6. Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with business unit finance teams, SSC functions, and outsourced providers to deliver high-quality service.
7. Performance & Improvement: Contribute to SSC projects, balance sheet reviews, and achievement of service level and performance targets.
Requirements:
8. Hold a professional accountancy qualification and be a member of a recognised accountancy body such as ACA, CPA, CIMA or an equivalent body.
9. Experienced in US GAAP, statutory accounts, audit, high volume reconciliation, and ERP systems.
10. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
11. Strong analytical skills.
12. Shared service centre exposure or experience in a multinational organisation is desirable.
