My Client, a reputable and established company based in Cork, are looking for a Inventory Planning & Purchasing Specialist to help with the growth and success of the business.The role is responsible for managing purchasing, inventory planning, and stock control activities to ensure accurate ordering, optimal inventory levels, and efficient supply chain operations. The position works closely with Sales, Operations, and Warehouse teams to prevent stock-outs, minimise excess inventory, and support continuous improvement initiatives.The Role:Ensure the timely and accurate creation of purchase orders and tracking of inbound shipments.Investigate non-conformances and implement root cause analysis and corrective actions.Collaborate with Sales and Operations teams to proactively prevent stock shortages.Analyse supply and demand trends to forecast inventory requirements.Monitor and maintain inventory levels in line with agreed targets and usage patterns.Ensure purchasing and stock control SOPs are strictly followed, with all transactions completed accurately and efficiently.Act as the primary point of contact for purchasing and inventory-related queries from internal stakeholders.Work with Operations and Warehouse teams to ensure stock movements and transactions are completed correctly.Provide cover and support for other planning and purchasing team members during peak periods, holidays, or absences.Coordinate with warehouse management to support stock takes with minimal operational disruption.Identify and resolve supply chain issues, including shortages, invoice discrepancies, and overstock situations.Produce regular reports and provide insights to improve purchasing and inventory performance.Support continuous improvement projects across Operations and Supply Chain functions.Conduct regular inventory audits and maintain accurate stock records.Update inventory management systems accurately to support business efficiency.Requirements:Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in inventory records and purchasing activities.Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities and large volumes of stock.Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical approach to resolving supply chain and inventory discrepancies.Technical Skills: Experience with inventory management systems, electronic ordering platforms, and advanced Excel (e.g. pivot tables, lookups).Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and external suppliers.For more information on the role, contact Ray Brennan directly on or on
