These activities are supported by production facilities and in-market teams in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Africa. Dynamic Working Ornua has a Dynamic Working policy in place which facilitates flexible hours and hybrid working. This role may require some travel, primarily domestically and in Europe.Why this role is valuableOrnua's Trade and Market Access Officer is a Group-wide support role, providing guidance and advice on a broad range of compliance issues relating to trade and third country market access. The Officer will also play a key role in engaging with competent authorities on policy and issues resolution and will represent Ornua on European and national trade and policy fora.Key focus areas for the Trade and Market Access Officer will be: horizon scanning, information dissemination, corporate policy positioning, in-house compliance advice and training, problem solving and issues resolution and external representation.Key Areas of Responsibility: Regulatory monitoring (including horizon scanning) on matters relating to trade and market access, including customs, SPS and animal diseases Update and proactively engage with the business and work collaboratively on regulatory awareness and compliance, including competency training Assist the business with export documentation management, and work with national and third country authorities to resolve export documentation and related market access issuesSupport the business on maintaining third country plant and product registrations and in securing necessary certifications, such as Halal and KosherSupport the business where necessary on trade and customs processes and procedures such as customs relief procedures, preferential origin, licence managementManage an efficient and effective data management process for trade and customs related issues and trade agreement tracking Ensure compliance with ABP annual returns Be main point of contact for tariff classifications and item code approvalRepresent Ornua and participate in industry working groups & fora (EU and national) on matters related to area of competency and development and articulation of corporate positionsWork collaboratively and provide back up and support to other team members, to ensure a consistent high level of business service by the Regulatory and Trade Compliance TeamPerform any other appropriate duties from time to timeKey Requirements & Competencies:Third level regulatory or related qualification or experienceBusiness acumen and preferably trade or food export experience Innovative, problem solving and creative skills Excellent written and verbal communication skillsProcess driven and good organisational skillsWillingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
