Integer is looking for a talented, enthusiastic Technician to join a dynamic R&D team developing innovative catheters & guidewires across multiple therapy areas including neurovascular, structural heart & peripheral applications. As a member of a small R&D team you will have the responsibility to support and maintain the R&D lab, contribute to the development of concept devices and associated processes.
Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
Employees are expected to support the quality concepts inherent in the business philosophies of Integer including a variety of job related tasks, which may not be specific to this position profile.
Accountabilities Include
* Setup and Operate R&D Equipment
* Setup and operation of R&D equipment (e.g. CAM grinder, braiding machine, laminator, laser welder etc.)
* Support Process Development
* Design of new prototype processes
* Define and document process procedure steps
* Modification of existing processes
* Build/Modification of processes including but not limited to…
* Process Characterization (DOE etc.)
* Debugging & troubleshooting of existing equipment/processes
* Validation (IQ, OQ, PQ, PPQ)
* Participate in Product Design Activities
* Initial design evaluations
* Provide support for product concept builds
* Help test and evaluate different design concepts
* Document builds and testing in Laboratory notebooks with full traceability
Minimum Education And Experience Requirements
* Minimum of Level 6 Trade Certification or equivalent 3rd level qualification (e.g. Mechanical/Biomedical)
* Minimum of 3 years of experience preferably in the medical device industries or other comparable industries (e.g. electronics, automotive etc.)
Skills And Knowledge
* Knowledge of GMP and manufacturing processes
* Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team
* Knowledge of mechanical design & build techniques
* Ability to work with and manage vendors to accomplish tasks
* Experience in validation activities
* Good knowledge of machine control systems and techniques
* Experience in some of the following areas is desirable:
* Wire Straightening
* Laser Welding
* Braiding
* Grinding Applications
* Polymer Reflow
* PTFE Coating
* Hydrophilic Coating
* Heat Treatment
* Metrology
* High Volume Manufacturing
* Knowledge of techniques and tools such as DOE, statistical techniques and lean tools is an advantage
* Proficiency and experience in 2D and 3D modelling software is an advantage
* Good report writing and test analysis
* Good computer literacy and communication skills.
