We also provide transmission services to local and regional radio broadcasters, site services to mobile telephone and broadband operators, private communications companies, and emergency services.

2rn has an opportunity for a suitably qualified & experienced Broadcast Engineer to join the team at its National Network Monitoring Centre (NMC).
Purpose of Job
Reporting to the Head of Network Integrity, the Broadcast Engineer will control and monitor the operational status of the 2rn transmission networks, identify issues, and perform remedial actions using remote-control technologies and graphical interfaces. The role involves diagnosing problems, undertaking first-line maintenance, and serving as the first point of contact for business customers and the public, making it highly customer-facing.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Monitoring & control of various transmission networks and DTH platform.
2. Fault diagnosis and analysis.
3. Interrogation of systems and fault analysis.
4. Dissemination of data within 2rn.
5. Communication with management regarding incidents.
6. First-line maintenance of transmission systems.
7. Customer liaison and public communication.
8. Maintenance of the 2rn website.
9. Data collation for reporting.
10. Managing site access and lone worker coordination.
11. Specifying user requirements for upgrades.
Knowledge & Experience:
* Technical qualification in electronics or telecommunications.
* Experience in a technical, customer-focused environment.
* Strong IT skills, including MS Office.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and engage in problem-solving.
* Performance-driven with strong organizational skills.
* Availability for shift work over 7 days.
Remuneration
A competitive salary plus shift allowance, on the Assistant Broadcast Engineer 2 scale (€34,391 - €43,965 gross per annum), depending on experience and qualifications.
