A leading manufacturing site in
Galway
is undergoing major transformation and investment under private equity ownership. We are seeking a Head of Engineering to modernise the engineering function, embed reliability practices, and significantly improve equipment uptime (targeting an increase from 50–60% to 80–90%).
Key Responsibilities
* Lead a 30-person engineering team across maintenance, facilities, and projects
* Implement reliability, predictive and preventative maintenance strategies
* Improve equipment availability, changeover efficiency, and validation readiness
* Ensure full GMP/FDA/HPRA compliance
* Drive cultural modernisation and support digital transformation (incl. SAP rollout)
* Oversee capital projects and partner with Production, Supply Chain, and Technical functions
Experience Required
* Senior engineering leadership in high-availability manufacturing ideally pharmaceutical
* Strong GMP/FDA knowledge
* Proven track record improving uptime via reliability engineering
* Experience managing multi-product, high-changeover environments
* Experience leading
transformational change
within engineering teams or site operations
* Demonstrated ability to
influence stakeholders at all levels
and navigate complex organisational dynamics
