Orange Recruitment are seeking an experienced Building Services Estimator to join our client's growing team in Dublin. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and technically robust estimates for both mechanical and electrical building services packages across a variety of sectors, including data centres, pharmaceuticals, commercial developments, industrial facilities, and energy projects. As a Building Services Estimator, you will work closely with design engineers, project managers, and a reliable network of suppliers and subcontractors to ensure each tender submission reflects the company's technical capability, value-driven approach, and commitment to high-quality delivery. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated estimator to broaden their expertise across the full spectrum of M&E systems while contributing to landmark building services projects. Responsibilities: Prepare comprehensive and fully scoped building services estimates covering both mechanical and electrical systems. Review and analyse tender drawings, specifications, schematics, and technical documentation to ensure all M&E elements are identified, quantified, and priced accurately. Collaborate with mechanical and electrical design teams to develop practical, cost-effective, and buildable solutions, including participation in value engineering exercises. Source, evaluate, and compare subcontractor and supplier quotations for M&E packages, ensuring technical compliance, competitive pricing, and alignment with project requirements. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labour rates, material costs, market pricing, plant options, emerging technologies, and industry standards within the building services sector. Prepare tender clarifications, scope summaries, risk assessments, and supporting documentation in line with company tender procedures. Provide clear cost breakdowns and technical/commercial input during tender handover meetings to support project delivery teams after award. Develop strong working relationships with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure clear communication throughout the tendering process. Requirements: Degree or equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline. Minimum 5 years' experience in M&E or building services estimating, tendering, or a similar technical/commercial role. Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical building services systems, installation methodologies, and industry best practice. Excellent analytical, numerical, and organisational skills with strong attention to detail in reviewing tender documentation. Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and manage supplier/subcontractor relationships. Proficiency in estimating software, digital measurement tools, and Microsoft Office applications. A methodical, proactive approach with the ability to meet tight tender deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
