About the Opportunity
A leading Mechanical Contractor based in the South Dublin / Wicklow region is seeking an experienced QEHS Manager with a strong emphasis on Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC) to support the successful delivery of large-scale Pharmaceutical, Industrial, Commercial, and Data Centre projects across Ireland.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing all Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety (QEHS) activities across multiple projects and operational teams, ensuring the highest standards of compliance, safety performance, and quality delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a proactive safety-first and quality-driven culture, ensuring all works are delivered in line with GMP standards, ISO standards, client requirements, and Irish health & safety legislation.
The Role – QEHS Manager
As QEHS Manager, you will lead all quality, environmental, health & safety functions across the business, ensuring robust systems, procedures, and site controls are implemented and maintained across all projects.
You will work closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers, QA/QC teams, site supervisors, subcontractors, and senior leadership teams, supporting operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across mechanical construction activities.
Quality (Primary Focus)
Lead and manage all QA/QC activities across Mechanical Construction projects, ensuring compliance with client specifications, project quality plans, and industry standards.
Develop, implement, and maintain: Quality Management Systems (QMS), Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Quality procedures and audit programmes
Oversee inspections, walkdowns, testing, and turnover documentation relating to: HVAC systems, Pipework installations, Process and clean utility systems, Pressure testing and commissioning activities
Manage: NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), Root cause analysis, Corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Ensure compliance with: ISO 9001, GMP environments, Client QA/QC specifications
Coordinate project handover documentation, test packs, and final quality close-out processes.
Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS)
Lead implementation and management of all EHS policies, procedures, and compliance programmes across multiple construction projects.
Ensure compliance with: Irish & EU Health & Safety legislation, PSDP / PSCS requirements, Company EHS standards and client site procedures
Conduct: Site safety inspections, Audits, Risk assessments, Incident investigations, Behavioural safety reviews
Review and approve: RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements), Permit systems, Safe systems of work
Monitor and report on: Safety KPIs, Near misses, Incidents, Environmental performance metrics
Drive continuous improvement initiatives relating to: Site safety culture, Environmental awareness, Hazard identification and mitigation
Deliver toolbox talks, QEHS training, inductions, and awareness programmes across project teams and subcontractors.
Support emergency response planning and ensure appropriate environmental and safety controls are maintained on site.
Liaise with clients, consultants, regulatory bodies, and subcontractors regarding all QEHS-related matters.
Necessary Requirements of the Group QEHS Manager
Degree or trade background in: Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Construction Management or from a strong trades background
Quality / QEHS disciplines
NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent Health & Safety qualification preferred.
5–10+ years’ experience in QEHS, QA/QC, or EHS leadership roles within:
Mechanical Construction
M&E Contracting
Excellent knowledge of: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001
Irish Health & Safety legislation
Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence teams and drive a positive QEHS culture.
