Bid Manager
This role entails leading the preparation of competitive, high-quality bid submissions for mechanical engineering projects. As a Bid Manager, you will be based in Dublin and work closely with cross-functional teams to compile accurate technical and commercial proposals that align with client requirements and strict deadlines.
You will coordinate end-to-end preparation and submission of bids for mechanical engineering projects, including HVAC, piping, and mechanical installations. This will involve reviewing and analyzing tender documents (specifications, drawings, BOQs) to identify requirements and deadlines, collaborating with engineers, estimators, and internal teams to gather technical inputs and pricing details, managing bid timelines, schedules, and deliverables to ensure timely and compliant submissions, compiling, formatting, and producing bid documents, including technical proposals, method statements, and capability statements, maintaining and updating a library of standard responses, case studies, and project references, supporting post-submission clarifications, presentations, and follow-ups, and tracking bid outcomes and contributing to continuous improvement through lessons learned.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a bid or proposal coordination role within the construction or mechanical engineering sector. A basic understanding of mechanical systems and terminology is also required. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple deadlines, are essential. Excellent written English and high attention to detail are necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel, as well as experience with Adobe Acrobat, is required. The ability to interpret technical documents and drawings is an advantage. Experience with tender portals and procurement platforms, such as Procore, is also beneficial. Familiarity with public and private sector bidding processes is highly desirable.
