Sous Chef – Pre-Opening Opportunity in the Heart of Naas
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Sous Chef to join the team at a brand-new restaurant opening soon in the heart of Naas. This is a unique chance to be part of an ambitious pre-opening team and to play a key role in shaping an exciting new dining destination.
As Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef and GM to oversee all aspects of the kitchen operation — from breakfast through to lunch and dinner service. You will be responsible for supporting the daily running of the kitchen, ensuring consistency, creativity, and excellence in every dish served.
This role offers the right candidate the chance to make a real impact, contribute to menu development, and help establish a strong culinary identity for the restaurant from the very beginning.
Key Responsibilities
* Work collaboratively with the Head Chef to plan, prepare, and execute breakfast, lunch, and dinner service to the highest standard.
* Assist in menu planning and recipe development, bringing creativity and innovation to each dish.
* Ensure that all food is prepared using fresh, seasonal, and high-quality ingredients.
* Maintain excellent standards of food hygiene, safety, and kitchen organization in line with HACCP requirements.
* Lead and motivate junior kitchen staff, promoting teamwork, efficiency, and a positive working environment.
* Support stock management, ordering, and cost control in collaboration with the Head Chef.
* Contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen during all service periods.
Requirements
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role within a busy restaurant or hotel kitchen.
* Strong culinary skills with a passion for cooking from scratch and working with fresh ingredients.
* A creative and forward-thinking approach to food, with excellent attention to detail.
* Proven ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
* A team player with a positive attitude and a genuine passion for the hospitality industry.
