Overview
UIGI is seeking a motivated and technically capable Grid Monitoring Specialist to join the GridSure operations team and support our GridSure Command Center. The GridSure Command Center is a remote microgrid monitoring and dispatch center that supports utilities, data centers, and large energy users worldwide. You will collaborate with the US-based NOC team to monitor and manage distributed energy resources (DERs), microgrids, and utility-scale energy systems across Europe and North America. You will help ensure 24/7 monitoring, rapid incident response, and seamless system operation for our global customer base. Additionally, the candidate will support the day-to-day project management across other business initiatives. This position offers hands-on exposure to real-world power systems, data acquisition, and automation controls – ideal for an early-career college graduate eager to develop technical depth and expertise in a fast-growing industry.
Responsibilities
* Dispatch & Monitoring: Remotely monitor and dispatch load management assets, monitor in real time, and ensure timely execution.
* Operational Support: Maintain situational awareness of system health.
* Quality Assurance: Perform QA reviews for new and existing GridSure deployments.
* Disaster Event Response: Prepare for and manage assets during disaster events.
* System Optimization: Analyze and summarize operational data to improve GridSure performance and reliability.
* Integration & Testing: Support device configuration, integration of communication protocols, and FAT/SAT testing.
* Global Coordination: Align with the US NOC team to maintain consistent global standards and response coverage.
* Technical Support: Provide internal and external device support as needed to ensure a stable, responsive system. Escalate and coordinate complex issues with senior engineers or external vendors, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication.
Minimum Qualifications
* 0-3 years experience in the electrical system, system automation, or other relevant fields
* Proven experience with IT systems and tools
* Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with remote teams
* Ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to customers
* Ability to work from Dublin office 5 days a week
Knowledge, Skills and Expertise
* Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work under pressure
* Basic understanding of networking protocols, computer hardware and systems, along with experience in industrial network deployment
* Ability to collaborate across teams and effectively communicate technical concepts
* Comfortable with ambiguous setting and a fast-paced environment
Desirable skill sets
* Bachelor or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Software Engineering or related technical field
* Exposure to automation or SCADA systems
* Familiarity with DEIF, Woodward, ComAp, or similar platforms
* Knowledge of industrial automation system platforms
