Hedging and Trading Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled Hedging and Trading Specialist to join our expanding team. This role will play a critical part in supporting our growth into the commercial energy supply sector through our Yuno Energy brand.
Key Responsibilities:
* Exposure Monitoring: tracking fixed price and variable price customers across all systems, ensuring consistency between systems of record and customer number and demand assumptions.
* Calculation and checking: associated electricity, gas, carbon, and environmental certificate exposures, ensuring adherence to approved hedge strategy.
* Market Analysis: tracking market movements, using existing tools, and developing new tools to improve in-house forecasts and analysis of wholesale commodity movements and projections.
* Forward Trade Execution: executing forward trades in electricity, gas, carbon, and environmental certificates, monitoring market behavior and sentiment to optimize hedge execution timing.
* Flex Trades: on behalf of commercial flex customers, maintaining good relationships with brokers and counterparties, and ensuring collateral is in place to trade ahead of trading windows.
* Trading Administration: logging trade details into the system of record, checking and signing counterparty confirmations, EMIR/REMIT reporting trades where applicable, reallocation, and splitting of trades to appropriate books.
* Reporting and Metrics: reporting of trading KPIs associated with hedging and trading, trading and reporting of key risk metrics, and development and improvement of risk tools.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Five years' experience in the energy industry within supply and generation.
* Understanding of the Irish Electricity and Gas markets.
* Strong problem-solving, analysis, and attention to detail skills.
* High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* Strong data handling and programming skills, preferably in Python, SQL, and PowerBI.
* Comfortable working with large amounts of data.
* Clear, concise, and structured communication skills.
* Ability to follow, map, and improve processes.
* Adaptable and flexible, able to change priorities.
