Overview
We are currently seeking a Chemical Process Engineer to join our team at Breedon Cement, Kinnegad.
As a Chemical Process Engineer you will be responsible for supporting the production team in overseeing production and production-related projects on-site, with a focus on optimizing the sustainability of our processes.
We are seeking a highly motivated Chemical Engineer with technical knowledge in cement manufacturing to join our fast-growing company and play a key role in our mission to become a global leader for sustainability in the building materials industry.
As the Chemical Engineer, you will lead and shape the production development process, drawing on your expertise and experience to drive innovation and ensure our continued success.
Key Responsibilities
Monitoring process KPIs and evaluating operations to identify areas for improvement in production cost and quality.
Conducting feasibility studies on improvement projects and providing recommendations to senior management.
Regularly evaluating process performance against recognised benchmarks, including equipment reliability, fuel consumption, electrical efficiencies, and quality control.
Ensuring the timely and accurate submission of specified reports.
Collaborating with the Process Team on a regular basis to identify process improvement opportunities.
Developing and utilizing expertise in various areas, including cement manufacturing technology, grinding and milling systems, cement kiln process chemistry, cement quality control, and cement kiln pyro-processing to positively impact business performance.
Liaising with consultants to resolve technical issues where necessary.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
A desire to continuously learn and improve their knowledge of developing trends and advancements in the cement industry.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to understand complex problems and communicate effectively with others.
A rigorous approach to problem-solving and maintaining accurate records.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships that people respect and are comfortable working with.
The ability to work independently and show self-motivation.
It's also important for the Chemical Engineer to effectively communicate with all plant staff and senior management and be aware of health and safety legislation and standards.
A minimum of 2 years of industry experience is typically required for this role.
