About the Role
Mastertech Group is a leading provider of HVAC, Mechanical, Electrical contracting services in Ireland. We are currently seeking a Cad Technician M&E to join our team based in Tallaght, Dublin 24. This role will provide exposure to a wide range of expertise across M&E sites in Dublin and surrounding areas.
The successful candidate will produce clear, accurate M&E construction drawings and details in 2D CAD from tender through handover. Work includes 2D coordination, integrating supplier drawings, tracking redlines, and issuing build-ready drawing packs.
Key Responsibilities
· Drawing Production: GA plans, sections, elevations, schematics, risers, builders' works/penetrations, setting-out details, spools, and as-builts.
· 2D Coordination: Overlay architectural/structural backgrounds, manage Xrefs, resolve clashes in 2D with disciplined layering, offsets, and annotations.
· Standards & QA: Maintain CAD standards (layers, line weights, linetypes, text/dim styles, title blocks, revision control, CTB/STB plotting).
· Change Control: Incorporate mark-ups/redlines; maintain drawing registers, revisions, and transmittals; record assumptions and queries.
· Supplier/Client Info: Integrate manufacturer dimensional drawings and data sheets; keep layouts consistent with schematics and schedules.
· Site Support: Attend coordination meetings and occasional surveys; capture dimensions/field conditions and update drawings promptly.
· Deliverables: Issue complete, constructible PDF/DWG packs to programme and compile final as-built/O&M drawings.
Skills & Experience
Essential
· 2–4+ years' CAD experience with an M&E contractor/consultancy or specialist subcontractor.
· Strong AutoCAD proficiency (model/paper space, viewports, annotative scaling, sheet sets, Xrefs).
· Working knowledge of building services (HVAC, CHW/LTHW, plumbing, fire protection, LV/ELV containment).
· Able to read/produce schematics and translate to coordinated layouts.
· Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and deadline management.
Desirable (Advantageous)
· Revit (MEP) exposure for reading/exporting backgrounds or basic 3D checks.
· Familiarity with BIM concepts/terminology (EIR/BEP, ISO 19650 naming) as a plus—not core to the role.
· Experience producing penetration schedules, hanger/bracket details, and simple take-off drawings for QS support.
· Experience on Irish commercial, healthcare, pharma, or data-centre fit-outs.
· Basic site survey skills (tape/laser) and strong drawing housekeeping.
Qualifications
· QQI Level 6+ Diploma/Degree in Building Services/CAD (or equivalent experience).
· Right to work in Ireland. Safe Pass advantageous (or obtained during onboarding).

· Autodesk AutoCAD (essential)
· Microsoft 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Excel/Word) (essential)
· (Nice-to-have) AutoCAD dynamic blocks, tool palettes, LISP automation; Revit (viewing/basic edits)
Quality & Compliance
· Company CAD standards and QA procedures (ISO 9001).
· Relevant Irish guidance/regs as applicable to drawings (TGD, CIBSE guidance; NSAI IS 10101 for electrical layouts).

· On-time drawing issues vs. programme

· Redline turnaround within agreed timeframes
· Zero plotting/layer/scale errors on issued packs
· Clear revision history and complete registers
Working Arrangements
· Dublin office base with occasional site visits across Ireland
