Overview
Camphill Communities of Ireland (CCoI) are recruiting for a Social Care Worker. Location: Dublin South - Stillorgan, A94 F5D8. Duration: Permanent, Full-time (40 hours) and Part-time (20 hours) available. Closing date: 5pm on Wednesday 1st October 2025. Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.
Responsibilities
* Advocacy & Rights: Respect each person who uses the services as an equal citizen; uphold and respect rights; facilitate and develop choice and decision‑making; promote self‑advocacy and community participation; support hobbies, interests and autonomy.
* Person Centred Support for Living: Ensure a person centred approach; support individuals with aspects of person centred plans including occupation and leisure, communication, behaviour support, independent living skills, social integration, personal care, and personal development; act as a Key Worker for specific individuals; coordinate medical appointments; support healthy, nutritious diets; develop and implement training, leisure, social and personal activities; facilitate community participation; ensure behaviour support plans are followed.
* Personal Care and Daily Living: Provide physical and personal support as needed, including moving and handling, mobility, infection control, dressing, bathing, toileting, eating assistance, sleep support, skincare and health promotion; assist with home maintenance and cleaning; manage laundry and bed linen; support personal hygiene programs.
* Community and Transport: Facilitate participation in recreational activities; liaise with workshops to manage house to work transitions; participate in transport duties and drive when required; ensure home environments are safe and well maintained; manage residents’ finances in line with policy; support meals planning and preparation; address religious and pastoral needs as appropriate.
* Administration and Compliance: Maintain accurate records (risk assessments, care plans, incidents, health action plans, medication management, financial records); ensure timely reporting to the Shift Lead and Person in Charge; adhere to policies, procedures and codes of practice; monitor transport use and staff attendance; support induction and training of staff and volunteers.
* Leadership and Teamwork: Coordinate house teams to ensure adequate coverage; lead by example in attitude, conduct and practice; work within the ethos of CCoI and ensure staff meet residents’ needs; contribute to a positive, value‑based service culture.
* Safety and Financial Stewardship: Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, HIQA regulations, and relevant legislation; manage petty cash and personal monies; prepare and monitor budgets; maintain house accounts and financial records.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience
* Hold a minimum of Level 7 on the QQI Framework (e.g., BA in Social Care Studies or equivalent in Health or Social Care).
* CORU registered or provide proof that application is in progress.
* At least 1 year of experience working with vulnerable adults or adults with intellectual disabilities.
* Understanding of current policy and developments in social care within disability services.
* Ability to follow, evaluate and contribute to plans to meet ongoing needs; strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
* Proficient IT skills (MS Office, Excel, Word, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams).
* Full driver’s licence and own car is an essential requirement.

* Salary Scale: €36,379 - €52,445 per annum (based on a 40 hours/week)
