Job Title: Theatre Nurse Leader
We are seeking a Theatre Nurse Leader to provide clinical and professional leadership to nursing staff within the General Surgery Theatre.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing the day-to-day running of the theatre, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide clinical and professional leadership to nursing staff within the General Surgery Theatre
* Coordinate and manage the day-to-day running of the theatre, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care
* Act as a role model for best clinical practice and promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development
* Ensure compliance with hospital policies, HIQA standards, infection prevention and control guidelines, and NMBI standards
* Allocate staff and resources effectively to meet service demands
* Support, supervise, and appraise staff, addressing performance, training, and development needs
* Collaborate with consultants, anaesthetists, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
* Maintain accurate documentation and reports related to clinical activity and staff management
Requirements:
* Registered General Nurse with current registration on the NMBI Register
* Minimum of 3 years recent post-registration experience in an acute theatre setting, including General Surgery
* Postgraduate qualification in Perioperative Nursing/Theatre Nursing is desirable
* Proven leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills
* Strong clinical competence with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development (CPD)
* Knowledge of HIQA standards, health and safety legislation, and infection control practices
