Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Digital MMD Automation Engineer – DeltaV to join our project team in Ballydine, Ireland. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for DeltaV Distributed Control System (DCS) delivery, working closely with Digital MMD teams, internal stakeholders, and vendors. This role will be instrumental in ensuring quality, compliance, and efficiency across automation systems for manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Report to the Digital MMD Project Lead, focusing on DeltaV Systems.
* Write and maintain User Requirements Specifications (URS) for DeltaV modules.
* Review and approve related design documentation.
* Partner with local site project teams to scope changes on the DeltaV system.
* Participate in Agile sprint teams for software development.
* Support commissioning and qualification activities, including FATs, loop testing, onsite commissioning, and testing.
* Follow the SDLC procedure to implement changes, including RS updates, RTM change control, implementation, and testing.
* Configure and test solutions in the development environment as required.
* Ensure software is implemented safely, meeting quality and compliance standards.
* Educate project teams on automation standards related to technology selection, system configuration, SDLC, validation, hardware/software environments, and business processes.
* Partner with internal Digital departments to ensure standardised and secure implementation in line with company standards.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other relevant technical discipline.
* Completed training in the DeltaV standard and batch.
* Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the DeltaV application.
* Proven proficiency in business analysis on capital projects.
* Strong understanding of cGMP, SDLC methodologies, and LEAN/MPS/Sigma principles.
* Excellent facilitation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
* Demonstrated ability to define business problems, develop business cases, and identify effective process/technology solutions.
* Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
* Willingness to work primarily onsite, with occasional travel to vendor premises or other sites as required.
Desired Qualifications:
* Experience commissioning DeltaV systems in GMP manufacturing facilities.
